Hollywood's elite descended upon Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night for the highly anticipated boxing rematch between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr, creating a spectacular blend of sporting drama and A-list glamour.
Star-Studded Ringside Spectacle
The event attracted numerous celebrities from film, music, and fashion, all seated ringside to witness the historic bout. Jason Statham, the 58-year-old action star, cut a sophisticated figure in a brown check suit, engaging in conversation and posing for photographs with controversial Saudi Arabian boxing chief Turki Al-Sheikh. At one point, Statham adopted his signature tough-guy pose, complete with a snarl and raised fist.
Statham was accompanied by his fiancée, model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, 38, who turned heads in leather trousers and a sparkling crop top that showcased her toned midriff. On Statham's other side sat director Guy Ritchie, with the two collaborators sharing fits of laughter ahead of the main event. Their professional relationship spans over two decades, beginning with 1998's Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
Adding to the glamour, former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan, 72, arrived looking dashing in a navy blue suit and coordinating tie. The Irish actor appeared in excellent spirits, sharing jokes and hearty laughter with music legend Rod Stewart throughout the evening.
The Benn-Eubank Boxing Saga
In the ring, Conor Benn delivered a commanding performance against Chris Eubank Jr, securing a unanimous decision victory with scorecards reading 119-107, 116-110, and 118-108. This victory marked the first win for the Benn family in the 35-year rivalry between the two boxing dynasties, after their fathers - Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank Sr - fought twice in the 1990s with Eubank winning one bout and the other ending in a draw.
Following his dominant win, the 29-year-old Benn declared an end to the family saga, stating: 'This is the end of the Benn Eubank saga, over.' He confirmed his intention to move back down to welterweight to pursue a world title, adding: 'Everyone says I can't box, put that in your pipe and smoke it.'
Eubank Jr, 36, acknowledged Benn's superiority on the night, saying: 'I've been through hell and back to get to this night. I tried my best, the kid fought hard, he has power. Benn was the better man tonight.' However, he left open the possibility of a trilogy fight, noting: 'It's 1-1... Who knows, maybe we will see something new with me and him.'
Other Celebrity Appearances
The celebrity contingent extended beyond Hollywood, with Spice Girl Emma Bunton making an appearance, though she appeared noticeably tense before the bout began, clutching her handbag tightly. Fellow singer Olly Murs was also present to support his friend and training partner Sam Gilley, who faced Ishmael Davis on the undercard. Unfortunately for Murs, Davis defeated Gilley in a pulsating 12-round battle to claim the British and Commonwealth junior middleweight titles.
The event at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium successfully combined high-stakes boxing with celebrity spectacle, creating a memorable night that both settled a historic family rivalry and provided plenty of entertainment beyond the ring.
