Scandinavia produced a devastating display of staying power to go back-to-back in the Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup at Glorious Goodwood on Tuesday. Aidan O'Brien's charge gave the Irish trainer his sixth win in the big day-one race under jockey Ryan Moore, confirming Gold Cup superiority with a seventh consecutive victory in the event.
The Group 1 contest was billed as a rematch from Royal Ascot between Scandinavia and Trawlerman, but it was one-sided as the Ballydoyle hero forged clear on the home straight. Trawlerman suffered interference from loose horse Amiloc but it did not alter the outcome. O'Brien said: "I'm absolutely delighted. He's a great horse. A real top stayer. It's a great race to win, very prestigious."

Lake Forest justified odds-on to win the Lennox Stakes and could return on Wednesday for the Sussex Stakes. Al Aali got punters off to a sharp start, backed into joint-favouritism before winning the opening race for trainer George Scott, kick-starting an afternoon that included a double for jockey Cieren Fallon.
