Olympic swimmer Adam Ramsay-Peaty became visibly upset after securing a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games, attributing his emotion to personal struggles beyond the pool.

Regarded as Britain's greatest swimmer, Ramsay-Peaty told reporters, "It's hard because I know how hard I work. I know the s**t I've been through, which is no fault of my own, but it does take its toll." He added, "I'm not crying because it's bronze instead of gold. I'm crying because I know I am better than that. I feel like I couldn't have put any more in, and that's where it hurts."
Ongoing Family Dispute
The 31-year-old Strictly star continues to deal with the fallout of a tense family feud that erupted last year. The rift hit headlines in the run-up to his wedding to Holly Ramsay, daughter of Gordon Ramsay. It was reported that the bride had clashed with his mother, Caroline Peaty.
After fans noted Caroline's absence from Holly's hen do last November, Ramsay-Peaty's aunt, Louise Williams, addressed the matter on social media, declaring Caroline was "heartbroken" and criticising Adam for his treatment of his mother. Broadening the rift, several family members, including his parents and brothers James and Richard, were reportedly disinvited from the wedding one month later. His sister Bethany was among the few relatives at the ceremony.
Now, almost a year later, Ramsay-Peaty remains affected by the dispute. With his wife pregnant with their first child, family is likely on his mind.
