Rheanna Cartier, a beauty pageant queen, won her amateur boxing debut in March 2025 after three rounds, proving doubters wrong and setting her sights on a professional career.
From Pageants to the Ring
Cartier, who grew up in Oxfordshire, first dreamed of boxing as a teenager but was told 'No' by her parents. She instead found success in modelling and beauty pageants, starting at age 16 after being scouted at a train station.
Entering pageants boosted her confidence, leading to her first win at 17 in the 'no make-up' round of Miss England. She has since competed in Mexico, Egypt, South Korea, and Mongolia.
Overcoming Doubts
Despite her pageant success, Cartier always wanted to box. She faced skepticism, with people saying she didn't look like a boxer. Her victory in the ring silenced critics, and she admitted it feels good to have people shocked by her performance.
Her story gained attention, including from Playboy, which led her to join their creator platform to share her boxing journey. She noted that no one else on the platform showcased boxing, making it a unique opportunity.
A New Focus
Six weeks after her debut, Cartier returned to pageants, but her focus has shifted. She now trains to be strong rather than small, describing it as a positive change for her health and mindset.
While she continues to compete in pageants when traveling, her ultimate goal is to become a professional boxer. She has declined influencer boxing offers to stay amateur with England Boxing, aiming to win a title and turn pro.
