Conor McGregor has teased a trilogy fight with Max Holloway for International Fight Week in 2027, calling it 'The Last Dance.' The former two-division champion returned from a five-year hiatus earlier this month, but his bout ended after just 69 seconds when he suffered a torn ACL. McGregor later revealed the injury and now faces a year-long recovery.
Plans for 2027 Return
In a video on Instagram, McGregor posted warm-up footage with the caption: 'What was to be a generational beating is now to be reset. IFW 2027. The Last Dance.' International Fight Week 2027 is expected to take place in July. McGregor also wrote: 'The amount of work I put in, without getting even a semblance of a fight back, is really disheartening. But is it? That work is still there. Now, I am being called upon for more work. More discipline. More growth.'
Recovery and Contract
UFC president Dana White said McGregor would be out for at least a year, a timeline that aligns with the 38-year-old's plan to fulfill his current UFC contract. McGregor posted footage of his walkout at UFC 329, stating: 'The white orange and green machine. Moseying on back to the office... I'll see ya's next year 100 per cent.' He also called for his fight with Holloway to be ruled a No Contest, writing: '1. I will have the results of the scan on my leg tomorrow. 2. The fight should be a no contest and all bets returned.'
