Arthur Fery, the 23-year-old British wildcard, has stormed into the Wimbledon semi-finals, defeating French Open finalist Flavio Cobolli and veteran Grigor Dimitrov along the way. He now faces Alexander Zverev on Centre Court on Friday afternoon.
Millionaire Father and Prize Money
Fery's run guarantees him at least £900,000 in prize money, more than doubling his career earnings. However, his father, Loic Fery, is a French businessman worth an estimated £275 million. Loic made his fortune as a financial trader in Hong Kong and the UK before founding Chenavari Investment Managers. He also owns French football club FC Lorient, where he serves as president.
Girlfriend Rumours
Fery has kept his personal life private. He was previously linked to food content creator Honor Mullard, who runs 'The Honorable Chef'. The two attended King's College School in Wimbledon together. However, it has been confirmed that Fery is currently single.
Mid-Tournament Medical Procedure
Fery suffered three nosebleeds during his third-round win over Zizou Bergs, a recurring issue in hot conditions. He initially planned to see a doctor after the tournament but decided to act sooner. Speaking after his victory over Cobolli, Fery said: "I had a little procedure four days ago here on it. That seemed to help. Just getting the blood vessels cauterised in the nose. A small thing. Nothing major. Didn't hurt. I've also tried to avoid wiping with a towel straight on the nose. I think that was also not helping, so just a combination of things, just a bit of luck as well." The procedure has kept him nosebleed-free in his last two matches.
