Truss Announces Pro-Trump UK Conference, Vows 'MAGA for Britain'

Liz Truss, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, has announced that a significant pro-Trump conference will take place in London this summer, as she pledges to initiate a 'MAGA movement' for Britain. Speaking at the CPAC USA conference in Grapevine, Texas, Truss outlined her vision for a political shift akin to the Trump-inspired movement in the United States.

During her address, Truss humorously suggested that the British version could be dubbed 'MEGA,' standing for 'Make England Great Again.' She confirmed that the event is scheduled for 16-18 July in London, with tickets becoming available this week. This announcement marks a bold step in her post-premiership political activism, aligning with far-right ideologies.

Conspiracy Theories and Calls for Revolution

In a separate panel titled 'Europestan: Can Europe Survive,' Truss delivered a speech filled with unsubstantiated claims, demanding a 'Trump-style revolution' in Britain. She asserted that the country has been 'taken over' by Islamists and a 'Global Elite,' accusing non-right wing media in both the US and UK of being 'the enemy' whose 'oxygen' needs to be cut off.

Truss elaborated on her views, stating that 'elites' in the UK 'fundamentally don't like western civilisation, and they want to destroy it.' She blamed a 'globalist movement' for capturing institutions, universities, mainstream media, corporations, and bureaucracy, promoting policies like open borders and transgender ideology while undermining traditional family values.

Criticism of Past Policies and Defence of Controversial Figures

Reflecting on her time in government, Truss admitted that the Conservative Party, including herself, 'did not do enough' to challenge these forces. She cited issues such as net zero policies leading to expensive energy, constitutional changes, and the embedding of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives as examples of compliance with the status quo.

Truss also defended Lucy Connelly, who was imprisoned in 2024 for inciting racial hatred after posting on social media calling for a refugee hotel to be burned down. Truss claimed this case exemplifies how 'people are being put in prison for talking about what's going on,' highlighting it as evidence of deteriorating freedoms in Britain.

Warnings to American Audience

Addressing the MAGA crowd in Texas, Truss warned that the same 'forces' she described in the UK are active in America, pointing to figures like New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani and situations in California. She framed the conflict as a 'war for the future of Western civilisation,' urging American supporters to assist in defeating these elements in Europe to prevent their spread.

Truss concluded by emphasizing her belief that most British people reject the ideologies she opposes, desiring instead a Christian country with traditional values. She called for sweeping changes in media and governance to combat what she perceives as a worsening situation in the UK.
