Private Investigator Exposes iPhone Notes App Used by Cheaters

A private investigator has revealed a surprising method some iPhone users employ to conceal extramarital conversations, sparking widespread attention on social media. Cassie Crofts, founder of Venus Investigations, explained in a TikTok video that the Apple Notes app has become a tool for cheaters to communicate secretly.

According to Crofts, cheaters are moving away from conventional messaging apps like WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger. Instead, they exploit the Notes app's shared note feature, which allows two or more people to edit a note in real time without leaving a visible history of changes. Messages can be written and deleted immediately after being read, reducing the chance of discovery.

“If you've got an iPhone, you can create a shared note with someone else, put notes in there to each other, delete them when you're done; you can even put a password on it so no one else can access it,” Crofts said. She noted that suspicious partners might check text messages or social media, but are unlikely to think of checking the Notes app.

The video has amassed over 129,000 views, with commenters sharing their own experiences. One user said, “My ex husband was having an affair and messaging through the games app Words with Friends.” Another praised the exposure, while a third noted the feature could be useful in domestic violence situations for contacting support.

Experts from Psicología y Mente suggest that signs of infidelity include increased phone privacy, changes in schedules, irritability, or sudden attentiveness as a distraction. Changes in communication and intimacy may also be indicators.
