Three More Arrested After Isle of Wight House Fire

Three additional men have been arrested on suspicion of murder following a fatal house fire on the Isle of Wight, bringing the total number of arrests to four, police confirmed.

Fire and Victim Discovery

Emergency services responded to a blaze on Ronsons Close in Cowes at 3:32 a.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the body of a man in his 20s inside the burnt-out house. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arrests Made

On Saturday evening, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary arrested two 24-year-old men and a 59-year-old man, all from Cowes, on suspicion of murder and arson with intent to endanger life. They remain in custody, according to a police spokesperson.

These arrests follow the earlier detention of a 28-year-old man from Ventnor on Friday. He was arrested on suspicion of murder, arson with intent to endanger life, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Investigation Ongoing

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire and the victim's death. Police have not yet released the victim's name, pending formal identification and notification of next of kin.
