A sinister email sent to multiple schools and businesses in Northern Ireland has warned that pipe bombs were placed 'inside and outside' their premises. The chilling message, received on 19 May 2026, claimed the sender would travel to every targeted location in the Antrim area 'armed with multiple guns and knives to attack and hurt as many people as possible'. The sender ominously declared that 'Antrim will remember this day'.
Schools Respond to Threat
St Benedict’s College in Randalstown was among the recipients. In a statement on social media, the school assured parents that the matter was 'not being treated as a serious threat'. However, it is being addressed at a senior level, and the school is following all guidance provided. As a precaution, school doors will remain locked throughout the day, and pupils will stay indoors until further direction from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).
The statement emphasised: 'The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff remains our highest priority. We will keep parents informed and will notify you immediately should the situation change.'
Ongoing Investigation
The PSNI has been notified and is investigating the source of the email. Authorities have urged vigilance but have not yet confirmed the credibility of the threat. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
