A chilling 999 call made by convicted murderer Vickrum Digwa, in which he falsely claimed that student Henry Nowak racially abused him and attacked him, has been released to the public.
Bodycam Footage Contradicts Claims
Police bodycam footage from the incident shows Henry Nowak handcuffed and dying, with an officer initially disbelieving his claim of being stabbed. Digwa told police that Mr Nowak was drunk, attacked him, and removed his turban, prompting his violent response.
Judge Dismisses Defence
Judge William Mousley KC stated during the trial that Mr Nowak was not drunk, directly contradicting Digwa's assertions. The court heard that Digwa's account was a fabrication designed to justify his actions.
Vickrum Digwa was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years for the murder of Henry Nowak at Southampton Crown Court. The case has drawn attention to the misuse of emergency services and the consequences of false allegations.
