Self-help influencer William 'Bill' Hooper has been reported missing, with his concerned parents suspecting that his social media presence may have contributed to his disappearance. The 29-year-old content creator left his hometown in the New Jersey area and boarded a train to New York City on May 21.
According to an alert circulated by local authorities, his last known location was Penn Station. Hooper's parents revealed that the online attention caused their son to experience anxiety, prompting him to cease posting on his TikTok account in March.
'I think he was overwhelmed by modern-day use of cellphones and with blowing up on TikTok,' his father told NJ.com. Over the past 12 months, Hooper's TikTok following surged from a mere 10 followers to more than 23,000.
