Ghislaine Maxwell's 'Sweet Pea' Emails to Andrew Revealed in Epstein Document Dump
Maxwell's 'Sweet Pea' Emails to Andrew in Epstein Files

The latest massive release of documents from the Jeffrey Epstein case has unveiled a series of intimate and revealing email exchanges, including one where Ghislaine Maxwell refers to a contact signed "A" as "sweet pea". This contact is widely believed to be Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, whom she also labelled "The Invisible Man".

Intimate Nicknames and Royal Condolences

In an email dated March 31, 2002, the disgraced British socialite, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence in Texas for sex trafficking, wrote to this mysterious recipient. The correspondence expresses sympathy regarding the passing of the Queen Mother, who died that same day at the age of 101.

"Sweat pea - sorry you had to rush home, and also under such sad circumstances," Maxwell wrote. "However much the passing was to be expected in one so old, it does not make it any less sad. She was wonderful, and I am happy that I managed to meet her and speak with her. We shall reschedule. Love you. Gx."

The Invisible Man's Response

A reply sent the following day, April 1, 2002, from the account titled "The Invisible Man" reads: "Got your message this morning. Sorry to have missed you yesterday I will ring later today to chat. A xxx." This exchange forms part of over three million documents published by the United States Department of Justice, relating to the convicted paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Context of the Relationship

The email revelation comes alongside previously released photographs that depict the close association between Maxwell, Prince Andrew, and Epstein. One image, included in a separate batch of files released last month, shows the trio together on a hunting shoot at Balmoral, the royal estate in Scotland.

Another controversial photograph shows Prince Andrew reclining on the laps of five women, with Ghislaine Maxwell standing behind the group, observing the scene. It is crucial to note that inclusion in these photographs does not inherently indicate wrongdoing, and Prince Andrew has repeatedly and vehemently denied any misconduct connected to Jeffrey Epstein.

Further Email Content

The latest document drop includes another email from "The Invisible Man", where the sender inquires if a redacted account holder is having more children, humorously labelling them "super sperm". The email states: "Sorry - I am in LA on my way to Hawaii. Is it true you are having more children? I shall have to refer to you as super sperm!" The subject line reads "Re: AKE in New York".

Background and Legal Proceedings

Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his cell at a federal jail in Manhattan, New York, in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. His death was officially ruled a suicide by the medical examiner.

Prince Andrew has faced serious allegations, which he strenuously denies, that he sexually assaulted Virginia Giuffre when she was a teenager after she was trafficked by Epstein. In 2022, he paid millions to Ms. Giuffre to settle a civil sexual assault claim out of court, despite maintaining that he had never met her.

The Duke of York stepped down from royal duties in 2019 following the fallout from his association with Epstein. In a significant move in November 2025, King Charles III officially stripped his brother of both his HRH style and his prince title, marking a profound demotion within the royal family.

The publication of these millions of documents continues to shed light on the extensive network and communications surrounding Jeffrey Epstein, with this latest email exchange providing a personal glimpse into the relationship between Ghislaine Maxwell and the individual believed to be Prince Andrew.
