Lady Victoria Hervey Brands Epstein File Exclusion an 'Insult' in Explosive Interview
Lady Victoria Hervey, the former girlfriend of Prince Andrew, has provocatively stated that not being named in the recently released Jeffrey Epstein files constitutes a personal insult, bluntly declaring that anyone omitted from the documents is essentially a loser. The aristocrat and socialite made these controversial remarks during a candid interview on LBC radio, where she extensively discussed the ongoing fallout from the latest document dump by the US Department of Justice.
'If You're Not in Those Files, It Would Be an Insult'
Speaking with presenter Tom Swarbrick, Lady Hervey asserted that Epstein cultivated connections exclusively with the powerful and influential. 'He (Epstein) knew everybody that was very powerful,' she stated. 'So like if you were on the scene and you were powerful - like to be honest, if you're not in those files, it would be an insult. Because it just means that you were a bit of a loser.' When Swarbrick directly queried whether this meant absent individuals were losers, Lady Hervey laughed and confirmed, 'yes.'
Asked if she herself appeared in the files, Lady Hervey responded with a wry smile, 'Well, of course I am.' She clarified her inclusion stemmed from media coverage, noting she is mentioned 23 times within the documents. The model, who dated Prince Andrew back in 1999, also expressed skepticism regarding Epstein's reported death, adding another layer of intrigue to her commentary.
Defending Prince Andrew as a Single Man Who 'Needs to Date'
Shifting focus to her former lover, Prince Andrew, Lady Hervey offered a robust defence of the disgraced royal. She described the immense difficulty of comprehending his position, stating it is 'very hard for anyone to kind of try and imagine being in his shoes.' Hervey portrayed Andrew in simplistic terms: 'But he's a male, he's single, he needs to date. He's not going to be sitting in a monastery his whole life.'
The 49-year-old aristocrat suggested Andrew placed trust in Epstein, whom he had known for a considerable period. 'They'd known each other for a long time at this point and he sort of thought, okay, well, he knows beautiful women and, you know, there's like so many other people out there and no one's talking about it,' she explained, attempting to contextualize their association.
Historical Context and Recent Allegations
Lady Hervey's interview arrives amidst a torrent of damaging revelations concerning Prince Andrew's links to Epstein and the late Ghislaine Maxwell. For years, Andrew disputed the authenticity of a notorious 2001 photograph showing him with his arm around Virginia Giuffre when she was 17, a central element of his ill-fated Newsnight interview defence. However, a recently disclosed email from Maxwell asserts 'for the record as fact' that she introduced Andrew to Giuffre and the photo was taken in her home that same evening, directly contradicting the prince's denials.
Giuffre, who accused Maxwell of recruiting her as a 'sex slave' and alleged she was forced to have sex with Andrew, died by suicide in Australia last year. Prior to her death, Lady Hervey publicly mocked Giuffre on Instagram following a minor car accident, posting a smiling selfie with the caption 'What is Karma' and the hashtag '#KARMA', accompanied by the song 'The Final Countdown'.
Andrew's Forced Move and Latest Photo Revelations
The interview also coincides with Prince Andrew's abrupt relocation from his £30 million, 31-room Royal Lodge residence to the King's Sandringham Estate. This move was reportedly accelerated after King Charles grew increasingly concerned by the escalating allegations. It followed the publication of an email where Andrew appeared to tell Epstein he desired to be his 'pet', and a police announcement to assess claims Epstein trafficked a second woman to the UK for Andrew.
Furthermore, disturbing new photographs from the Epstein files emerged last week, appearing to show Andrew crouched on all fours over a woman lying on the floor, staring directly at the camera in one image. These photos, lacking specific context like much of the released material, add to a collection of compromising images, including one from December showing Andrew lying across the laps of five women at Sandringham.
The US Department of Justice published over three million additional documents last week, with extensive redactions to protect victims' identities, medical files, and ongoing investigations. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed faces of women, except Maxwell, were blurred, but men's faces were not redacted. Throughout the escalating scandal, Prince Andrew has consistently denied all allegations of wrongdoing.
