Former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona has made the surprising claim that she receives occasional text messages from Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.
Unexpected Political Connection
In a candid new interview with The Times, Katona, who has never voted in her life, revealed the unexpected communication. "Nigel Farage texts me now and then," she stated. "Of course he f***ing does. I bet he used to love a Page 3 back in the day. Maybe he wants a discount."
The connection between the pop star turned OnlyFans model and the prominent political figure was previously unknown. Katona's comments came when she was asked if she saw herself entering politics.
A Life in the Public Eye
Katona, who shot to fame in the Nineties with Atomic Kitten before leaving to marry Westlife's Bryan McFadden, spoke openly about the brutal side of fame. She described a period of being hounded by paparazzi, with up to 40 photographers stationed outside her home.
"It was brutal, out of control," she recalled. "The cameras up the skirts... It got to the stage when I thought, this will only be over when they get the headline 'Kerry Katona dead'. It nearly happened." She added that fame felt like an "abusive drug" but declared she is now in a stronger place: "If they tried it today, I'd say, 'Come for me and watch me roar.'"
Politics, Tax, and a New Career
While dismissing any personal political ambitions, Katona expressed strong views on taxation and public services. "I think it's the biggest scam how much tax we pay and yet look at all the potholes round here," she said. "It's not good for my Lamborghini. And look at all the children still in care. Nothing gets done for them."
She did, however, say she would campaign for better protection for young women entering the entertainment industry.
The mother-of-five has found significant financial success on the content subscription platform OnlyFans, claiming to make thousands of pounds each month. "I do it all myself," she explained. "It's dead easy. I don't use filters or airbrushing. I could sit here while we're chatting, take off my top, do a bit of heavy breathing, film it and upload it."
Katona also reflected on the impact of her very public divorce from McFadden, noting that her daughter Lilly has said the experience put her off marriage.
The Independent has contacted Reform UK for comment regarding Katona's claims about Farage.
