Jenny Mollen, the estranged wife of actor Jason Biggs, has ignited a firestorm of criticism after sharing a series of unsettling photos on Facebook featuring her 12-year-old son, Sid. The 47-year-old actress and writer posted images of herself lying on top of her son, with her face close to his and her fingers running through his hair. The now-deleted pictures, which showed her positioned between his spread legs, were described by many commenters as inappropriately intimate.
Controversial Caption and Essay
The caption accompanying the original post read, 'Your eldest son will be the most toxic guy you ever date,' further alarming fans. This followed a Substack essay Mollen wrote in May 2026 titled 'Please. Stay. I want you. I need you. Oh, God,' which drew sharp rebukes, including from actress Valerie Bertinelli. Bertinelli called the sentiments 'effing weird' on Threads, questioning why Mollen would make motherhood seem so strange.
Details of the Essay
In her essay, Mollen described her son texting a girl, complaining that the girl was 'bossing him around' and 'wasn't even hotter than me.' Bertinelli responded, 'I love my son dearly... Why do you have to make it so effing weird?' She also liked a comment criticizing mothers who treat their sons like romantic partners.
Community Backlash
Facebook users quickly flagged the posts, with community notes accusing them of 'romanticizing a pedophilic, incestuous relationship.' One user wrote, 'Hey so... we don't date our sons,' while another suggested checking Mollen's hard drive. Many criticized the 'boy mom' label Mollen has used, with one person stating, 'Fellow boy mom here... we don't claim her.'
Double Posting
Mollen posted a second version of the photos without the caption and removed one of the more suggestive images, but the backlash continued. Commenters noted the oddity of posting such content twice, with one warning, 'Don't bother changing the caption now. Someone already has it screenshotted.'
Silence on Criticism
Despite the outcry, Mollen has not addressed the controversy. On the same day, she broke her silence on her split from Biggs in a Substack essay titled 'Don't Tell Me What It Is,' where she admitted struggling with being present and feeling like life is a 'waiting room.'
Previous Controversies
Mollen's history includes a 2011 incident where she hired an escort for a threesome with Biggs, as detailed in her 2014 memoir. Biggs later discussed the awkward encounter on The View, saying it didn't go well. The couple, who share two sons, Sid and eight-year-old Lazlo, reportedly remain on good terms for co-parenting, though they have not been publicly pictured together since November 2025.
