Gladiators star Giant, whose real name is Jamie Bigg, has announced his departure from the BBC show after three seasons, citing a clash over his partner's OnlyFans work as the reason for his exit. The 6ft 5in bodybuilder from Derbyshire said he was "shocked and disappointed" by the decision, which he claims was not his own.
Giant's Statement on Leaving Gladiators
In an Instagram post on Friday, April 24, Jamie expressed that being a Gladiator was "one of the greatest honours of my life," but clarified that his departure "wasn't a decision I made." He added that he had been "faced with a choice that didn't align with my values."
Speaking to The Mirror, Jamie elaborated on the circumstances surrounding his exit. He revealed that after three seasons, he was informed he would not be returning for season four shortly after sharing plans to go public with his relationship.
Partner's OnlyFans Work Cited
Jamie’s partner, Taylor, is known for her work on OnlyFans, a subscription-based platform often associated with adult content. Jamie defended her, stating: "My partner, Taylor, is someone I’m incredibly proud of. While she is known for her work on OnlyFans, that is just one part of what she does, a business-minded entrepreneur, someone who dedicates her time to fostering dogs and genuinely one of the kindest people I’ve ever met."
He noted that during conversations with the BBC, the issue of "child safeguarding" was raised, which he takes seriously as a father and role model. "I want to be clear that I have always upheld the standards expected of me, both professionally and personally. Being a positive role model has always been central to who I am, on and off screen," he said.
BBC's Response
The BBC was contacted for comment. A Gladiators spokesperson previously stated: "After three formidable series, Giant is leaving Gladiators. We'd like to thank him for everything he has contributed to the show and wish him well for the future."
Giant's Career and Personal Life
Jamie Bigg, a former firefighter and online fitness coach, joined Gladiators when the show relaunched in 2024. He is also recognized as one of the tallest bodybuilders in history. Before his relationship with Taylor, he was married to wellness influencer Katie Christian, with whom he divorced in 2025.
In his farewell Instagram post, Jamie wrote: "To my Gladiator family. I want to tell you all that I won't be coming back for season 4 of the TV show. Being a Gladiator has been one of the greatest honours of my life. Stepping into that arena, hearing the crowd, representing strength, resilience and being a role model... that's something I'll carry with me forever."
He concluded: "What I do want to make clear is this wasn't a decision I made to step away. I was faced with a choice that didn't align with my values. And if you know me, you know this... I stand by my people and I stand by what I believe in."
