Producers of the upcoming Celebrity Traitors series are taking unprecedented security measures to prevent leaks of the celebrity line-up, according to reports. Studio Lambert, the production company behind the BBC show, has installed locks on editing suite doors and banned staff from discussing the programme outside the studio building.
Security Measures Tightened
A TV insider revealed that the set-up now resembles that of The Masked Singer, which is known for its strict secrecy protocols. “Only a few people are allowed in and out,” the source told The Sun. The measures come amid fears that details of the high-budget series could be exposed prematurely.
Tom Hiddleston's Last-Minute Withdrawal
Earlier reports indicated that Hollywood actor Tom Hiddleston had signed up for the show but was forced to pull out due to film commitments. Hiddleston, known for roles in Steven Spielberg's War Horse, had expressed his admiration for the show, calling it “the most ingenious thing” and “the best television I've ever seen” in a BBC Radio 2 interview.
Confirmed Celebrities
Several names have been confirmed for the second series, including Love Island host Maya Jama, actor Richard E. Grant, Jerry Hall, comedian Romesh Ranganathan, and EastEnders star Ross Kemp. The stars were spotted heading to the Scottish castle where filming is taking place. All celebrities will donate their potential winnings of £100,000 to their chosen charities.
Host Claudia Winkleman recently shared tips on identifying traitors, noting that traitors go to bed later than others, which can be a giveaway. Filming is currently underway, and the show is expected to air later this year.
