Cristiano Ronaldo has travelled to Spain to receive treatment for a hamstring injury, Al-Nassr manager Jorge Jesus confirmed. The 41-year-old forward was substituted during his team's 3-1 victory over Al-Fayha last week, after which he was seen using an ice pack.
Jesus revealed that medical examinations showed the injury was more serious than initially thought, requiring rest and recovery. Ronaldo will miss Al-Nassr's upcoming match against Neom on Saturday. The club's AFC Champions League fixture against Al-Wasl was postponed due to ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Ronaldo's private jet was spotted flying to Madrid on Monday night. The Portugal captain is expected to focus on recovery ahead of the international break, with the World Cup on the horizon. He has only missed two games through injury in the previous season.
Ronaldo, under contract with Al-Nassr until June 2027, has hinted at retirement within the next one or two years. In November, he stated he feels 'very good' but acknowledged retirement is 'probably one or two years' away. He recently scored his 965th career goal, aiming for 1,000 before retiring.
