Tennessee Titans Troll NFL Rivals with Lookalike Video for Schedule Release
Titans Troll Rivals with Lookalike Schedule Video

The Tennessee Titans elevated their schedule release 'trolling' to an unprecedented level by venturing onto Nashville's iconic Broadway to find lookalikes of their NFL rivals. In a video released on Thursday evening, the Titans' media team scoured the streets in search of random passersby who bore a resemblance to notable figures from other teams.

The results were admittedly hit-and-miss. Some lookalikes, such as the one for Las Vegas Raiders rookie Fernando Mendoza, bore a surprisingly close resemblance to their NFL counterpart. However, others, like the lookalike for Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, fell short of the mark, though the individual was at least wearing a Garrett jersey.

Overall, fans were impressed by the Titans' creative efforts and took to social media to commend the team's social media staff. One fan wrote on X: 'I don’t even like the Titans but can acknowledge they win the Schedule Release video every year.' Another added: 'You’ve done it again. Give your social team a raise!!' A third commented: 'I’m a legit Seahawks fan but y’all own release day! This was pretty good!'

Chargers Join the Fun with Scandal References

Elsewhere on schedule release day, the Los Angeles Chargers made several pointed references to the Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini affair scandal in their video. The Chargers' announcement was highly anticipated after their inventive Minecraft-themed version went viral the previous year.

This time, they pivoted to the video game Halo as a backdrop and made a series of brutal digs at the scandal that has engulfed New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and NFL insider Dianna Russini. Introducing the Patriots as the Chargers' Week 12 opponent, the video transports viewers to a futuristic race track. A message interrupts the race, reading: 'Attention. Nothing to see here. Press X to skip this checkpoint,' alluding to the scandal.

As the race continues, vehicles pass a billboard that reads 'next photo dump 1 mile,' referencing the constant stream of images of Vrabel and Russini that has emerged in recent weeks. A 'message' from The New York Post appears on screen, as the publication was the first to publish pictures of the pair together at a lavish resort in Arizona.

The vehicles then drive off the edge of the circuit, exploding and killing players named 'Drake Maye', 'BigWillie66' (Will Campbell), and 'FreeTheFeet13' (Mack Hollins). The Chargers also referenced Cardi B and Stefon Diggs' tumultuous relationship by killing off characters named 'okurrr_cardi' and 'DaddyDiggs6'.

It was revealed earlier on Thursday that the NFL will not be taking action against teams that poke fun at the ongoing scandal.
