Nathan Brown Confirms Kane Cornes Feud

Veteran AFL media personality Nathan Brown has confirmed that the ongoing feud between himself and polarising footy commentator Kane Cornes is indeed real. Reports emerged that Cornes took a swipe at Brown, calling him 'brave or stupid' over a decision that impacted content on the Sunday Footy Show. Cornes made the remark after Brown included Channel 7 bloopers in his Media-Ocre segment.

Brown Opens Up on Relationship with Cornes

Brown was questioned about their dynamic on Triple M's Sunday Rub, specifically how they interact when working together for Sportsbet. 'We pretend and go our separate ways,' Brown replied.

Despite Cornes' comment regarding the TV show segment, Brown defended its nature. 'He said I was very brave … he questioned whether I was stupid or brave,' Brown said. 'I'm not criticising anyone. We have a very light-hearted jab at people, and it's never nasty, we put ourselves in it. There are people in the industry who do get a little bit nasty, but we definitely don't.'

Tensions Rise After Cornes Resigns from Selection Panels

The tensions have escalated just days after Cornes confirmed his resignation from the AFL All Australian selection panel and Rising Star judging panel. He stepped down after Sportsbet barred serving sports officials from its programming. The betting company's decision followed the Nick Foot saga, where the AFL umpire's role with Sportsbet was deemed a conflict of interest. Cornes could have left the bookmaker but revealed that doing so would have breached an existing contract.
