Former UFC Heavyweight Cleared as Prosecutors Drop All Domestic Incident Charges

Former UFC star Jairzinho Rozenstruik is no longer facing any legal action after prosecutors in Florida decided to drop all charges stemming from a domestic incident that occurred earlier this year. The Surinamese heavyweight fighter had been under investigation following his arrest in January 2026.

Charges Dropped Due to Lack of Witness Cooperation

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the state attorney's office declined to proceed with the case because the victim refused to provide a sworn statement. Officials explicitly noted that without a cooperative witness, there was 'no reasonable likelihood of conviction' for the charges that had been filed.

Rozenstruik had initially faced a third-degree felony charge for false imprisonment along with a misdemeanor charge for domestic battery. The original police report from Pembroke Pines, Florida, alleged a physical altercation inside a vehicle.

Conflicting Accounts of the January Incident

However, newer court filings suggest the 'parties were engaged in mutual combat' and provided conflicting stories about the event. Back in January, the former heavyweight was accused of biting and hitting the victim after police responded to a 'suspicious incident' at an address in Pembroke Pines.

The victim alleged to police that she and Rozenstruik got into an argument while driving back from a storage unit, though what triggered the dispute remains unclear. According to her account, the Suriname fighter reportedly slapped her hand multiple times, causing her to drop her phone.

When she attempted to leave the vehicle, Rozenstruik allegedly grabbed her arm to force her to stay in the car. The victim said she responded by punching him multiple times in self-defense as she tried to break his grip to exit the vehicle.

Details of the Alleged Altercation

Further allegations included that Rozenstruik attempted to kiss her, and when she declined, he became angry and bit her right bicep, leaving a visible bite mark. Police reportedly noted that the victim had redness on both forearms and a red scratch or bruise mark under her right eye during their investigation.

Rozenstruik's Fighting Career

Rozenstruik, known to many MMA fans as 'Bigi Boy,' competed 15 times in the UFC from February 2019 to February 2025. The promotion parted ways with him after he lost to Sergei Pavlovich at UFC Saudi Arabia last February, despite him being 2-1 in his final three bouts with the organization.

Since being removed from the UFC's roster, Rozenstruik has fought twice under the Dirty Boxing Championship banner, winning both bouts decisively. His legal clearance now removes a significant obstacle as he continues his professional fighting career outside the UFC organization.
