Love Island star Zara Holland has announced she is expecting her first child with husband Elliott Love. The 30-year-old reality star, who rose to fame on the second series of the ITV2 show in 2016, shared the news on Instagram on Bank Holiday Monday.
Posting a photo of herself cradling her baby bump outdoors, she wrote: "Baby Love On The Way Due September. We are so excited & we love you so much already!" The announcement was met with a flood of congratulatory messages from fans.
Zara married Elliott in a Greek wedding in 2023, after he proposed in Dubai. However, her journey to fame has been marked by controversy. Prior to Love Island, she was crowned Miss Great Britain but was stripped of the title after having sex on the show.
Pageant organisers said they had "no problem with sex" but did not condone her relationship with Alex Bowen. Late presenter Caroline Flack criticised the decision, calling Zara a "very sweet girl". Two years later, Zara said having sex on TV had "destroyed her life" and called for the show to be banned, claiming producers failed to offer aftercare.
ITV has since implemented rigorous aftercare procedures following feedback from former Islanders. Zara previously described the show as a "posh prison" and said she felt "brainwashed" during her time on it.
