Paris Fury Opens Up About Daughter's On-Camera Engagement Drama
Paris Fury has candidly revealed that her daughter's fiancé was absolutely terrified to ask her husband, heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury, for permission to marry their daughter Venezuela—all while being filmed by a Netflix crew. The mother-of-seven appeared on ITV's This Morning on Wednesday, April 8, to promote the upcoming second series of their reality show, At Home With The Furys, which returns to the streaming platform on April 12.
A Nerve-Wracking Proposal Under the Spotlight
During her interview with hosts Emma Willis and Rylan, Paris, 36, was questioned about the relationship between her eldest daughter Venezuela, 16, and fiancé Noah, who got engaged last September. She confirmed that wedding planning is actively underway for the teenager, whose engagement celebrations were captured during filming for the new series.
Paris admitted that the engagement storyline unfolded unexpectedly after Netflix cameras began following the family shortly after Venezuela and Noah started dating. This meant their early romance, from Venezuela beginning to date Noah at just 15 to the proposal itself, was extensively documented on screen.
"The poor young man was really nervous. It was intense for him," Paris joked, describing the moment Noah, a young amateur boxer and East Midlands belt holder, had to ask Tyson, 37, for his daughter's hand in marriage on camera. "One, it's not just the dad of your girlfriend, it's Tyson Fury, two, there were cameras there, there was a full Netflix crew and they were there for Venezuela's birthday."
Behind the Scenes of Reality TV Filming
Paris explained that the family does not alter their behavior for the cameras, making the authentic moments even more compelling. "We don't act any different on camera, it is what it is, there's too many of us to pretend anyway," she said. The engagement plot developed organically, with even the producers surprised by the turn of events.
"Even one of the producers joked, 'Imagine if she got engaged', and it was like, 'Oh my goodness, no'. And then it happened. Great television," Paris recalled. "But, it's amazing for her, him and her seem like they're so happy."
The trailer for the new series features Tyson and Noah sitting together in the family home, with Tyson asking, "You want to marry her?" and Noah nodding in response. Paris also confirmed that a third series is already in development, having "signed up" for more episodes.
Lavish Pre-Wedding Celebrations and Family Dynamics
The interview comes after the Fury family offered fans a glimpse into Venezuela's extravagant hen-do, held at Morecambe Football Club in March. The teenager wore a long golden gown and was joined by her mother, who sported a glittering dress, for the event. Social media clips revealed bouquets of flowers, a frozen yoghurt stand, and a glambot station, with Venezuela later changing into a coordinated outfit for dancing.
Venezuela showed off her dazzling engagement ring and expressed her excitement about married life, telling the Daily Mail, "I can’t wait. I’m really looking forward to married life. I'm very happy and excited." An estimated 300 guests attended the hen party, with security and a Netflix crew present to film for the upcoming series.
Paris Reflects on Her Daughter's Upcoming Marriage
Despite her daughter's joy, Paris admitted she "doesn't feel old enough" for Venezuela to be getting married, though she herself wed Tyson at 18 after meeting him at 15. "I'll feel like I've lost my arm. It's going to hit me hard," she said, expressing worry about her eldest child leaving home. However, she emphasized that Venezuela and Noah are in their "own little bubble" and are focused on traveling before starting a family.
Paris concluded by praising Noah's confidence during the on-camera proposal, noting, "he really owned it, he must be a very confident young man, and he came in and he did the traditional way. It was the big romance story, it was so cute." The new series of At Home With The Furys promises to deliver more intimate family moments, blending reality TV with genuine emotional milestones.
