Michael B. Jordan's Early Role in 'The Wire' Recalled After Oscar Win

Michael B. Jordan won the Best Actor Oscar for his role in Sinners at this year's Academy Awards, beating Timothée Chalamet. In his acceptance speech, he thanked director Ryan Coogler and acknowledged past black Oscar winners.

Before his Oscar triumph, Jordan built an impressive career starting as a child actor. His first credit was an episode of The Sopranos, followed by roles in All My Children, Friday Night Lights, and Parenthood. His film credits include Fruitvale Station, Creed, and Black Panther.

However, fans may have forgotten one of his earliest roles in the acclaimed HBO series The Wire. Jordan played Wallace, a teenage drug dealer for the Barksdale Organisation, appearing in 13 episodes. The show, which ran for five seasons, is widely considered one of the greatest TV series ever, despite receiving few awards during its original broadcast.
