Kourtney Kardashian Barker's glamorous Coachella wellness retreat transformed from an influencer's paradise to a dusty wasteland in a matter of minutes over the weekend as powerful desert winds battered the exclusive event. A TikTok video captured the dramatic scene at the reality star's invite-only Camp Poosh, showing the luxurious setup being destroyed by massive gusts of sandy wind on Sunday in Indio, California's desert festival grounds.
Camp Poosh Overtaken by Desert Fury
Social media star Jack Jerry documented the destruction on Instagram, writing "Camp Poosh got destroyed by the desert winds" alongside footage set to Darude's "Sandstorm." The video showed him standing in the storm with sand blasting his eyes as winds reportedly reaching 50 miles per hour swept through the camp. The gusts blew over tents, booths, and umbrellas while sending decorations flying through the air in chaotic fashion.
Luxury Setup No Match for Nature
Kardashian's Camp Poosh, described as a "reimagined adult summer camp" for her lifestyle brand, featured massage tables, IV drips, photo opportunities, food and drinks, glam stations, merchandise, exercise classes, and a pool. The event, now in its fourth consecutive year at Coachella, is exclusively available during the festival's first weekend to celebrities, influencers, and select fans who win invitations through brand giveaways.
In one particularly concerning moment from Jerry's video, a woman was seen lying on the floor holding her head after a table fell on her during the storm. The social media star captioned the scene: "The table fell on her," highlighting the dangerous conditions that developed rapidly at what was supposed to be a luxurious wellness experience.
Influencers Share Storm Experiences
Other attendees quickly shared their own experiences in the comments of Jerry's viral video. One participant wrote: "THAT'S ME SITTING ON THE CHAIR!! it was madness for about 5 seconds! But everything got put back together beautifully." Another added: "Yes! The umbrellas were getting ripped from the ground! My hair looked INSANE," emphasizing how suddenly the pleasant retreat turned into a dust-filled chaos.
Schadenfreude from Excluded Fans
Because Camp Poosh operates as a VIP-only event with many requests for attendance declined, some social media users expressed vindictive glee at seeing the exclusive gathering disrupted by unfortunate weather. "I see my negativity arrived," one TikTok user joked about the sandstorm's timing. Another wrote, "If I can't be there no one else can," while a third commented: "It's all the people they disinvited/ghosted sending their vibes."
Broader Coachella Weather Disruptions
Camp Poosh was not the only part of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival affected by the harsh desert conditions. After the South Coast Air Quality Monitoring District issued a windblown dust advisory for the entire desert region, EDM artist Anyma had to cancel his Friday set due to severe winds. Electronic producer Jigitz also reported ending his performance early because of the challenging weather conditions.
Later that same evening, heavy winds are believed to have contributed to a light fixture falling and injuring a concertgoer at the popular Do Lab stage. No update has been provided regarding the woman's injuries following the incident, which underscored the safety concerns created by the extreme desert weather patterns.
Desert Environment Presents Challenges
Coachella's location in the desert of Indio, California, is known for facing severe wind and dust conditions that can create challenging circumstances for festival organizers and attendees alike. The area's natural environment, while providing the iconic festival backdrop, occasionally unleashes powerful sandstorms that can disrupt even the most carefully planned events and luxurious setups.
This year's Camp Poosh setup had included a special performance by Ashlee Simpson for Kardashian's exclusive guest list before the sandstorm transformed the wellness retreat into what attendees described as a temporary dust bowl. Representatives for Poosh did not immediately return requests for comment about the weather-related destruction at their signature Coachella event.
