Exclusive: GK Barry Opens Up About Loose Women's Dynamic and Co-Star Relationships
Loose Women panellist GK Barry has provided an exclusive insight into the ITV show's behind-the-scenes atmosphere, firmly dismissing any rumours of feuds while praising her fellow co-stars. The 26-year-old TikTok sensation, who represents what she calls "mouthy younger women" on the programme, spoke candidly about the intergenerational dynamic that defines the popular lunchtime panel show.
Representing a New Generation on Loose Women
GK Barry, whose real name is Grace Keeling, has become a regular fixture on Loose Women alongside established presenters like Denise Welch, Olivia Attwood, and Coleen Nolan. As the youngest panellist at just 26 years old, she brings a fresh perspective to the show that previously featured predominantly older presenters.
"It's so good," GK said of the age range on the programme, which spans from her own 26 years to Gloria Hunniford's 85. "I feel like we are representing the sort of younger generation and the mouthy girls as well, which is nice."
She elaborated on the show's successful dynamic, stating: "I feel like our dynamic has worked really well on Loose Women – the whole panel just sort of moulds together, which is amazing. When I'm with Denise [Welch], I forget about her age. I'm absolutely obsessed with her; I think she's an icon."
Dispelling Rumours and Building Solid Friendships
The online sensation was keen to put any speculation about backstage tensions to rest, emphasizing the genuine camaraderie among the panellists. Her comments come amid ongoing public interest in the relationships between television personalities working in close quarters on popular programmes.
GK has developed particularly strong bonds with co-stars like actress Denise Welch, whom she describes with genuine admiration. This friendship extends beyond the studio, with the pair maintaining a connection that transcends their professional collaboration on the ITV show.
Personal Life: Relationship with Ella Rutherford Blossoms
In addition to discussing her professional life, GK Barry opened up about her personal relationship with Portsmouth midfielder Ella Rutherford. The couple's romance began in 2024 when Ella initiated contact through direct messages, shortly after GK's split from her previous boyfriend.
Their connection developed rapidly, with the couple moving in together after just one date. "Sensational," GK described their relationship to the Mirror. "We've got three dogs; it's really, really good."
Now two years into their relationship, the pair have navigated the challenges of public attention while building a life together. GK's family welcomed Ella with open arms, and the couple has established a comfortable domestic routine that includes their three canine companions.
Football Journey and Soccer Aid Participation
Despite not being a traditional football enthusiast, GK has embraced the sport through her relationship with Ella. She's preparing to participate in Soccer Aid's 20th anniversary event, with Ella providing coaching and guidance along the way.
"She's really excited," GK said of Ella's reaction to her Soccer Aid involvement. "I've never been one to understand football; I've never had the chance, but I feel like she's loving telling me about it. She's like 'This is a corner,' and I'm like 'OK.'"
The 26-year-old revealed they've been "swapping roles" in their relationship dynamic, with her planning to "sign up to Portsmouth" in a show of support for Ella's professional team. She described their bond as that of "two peas in a pod" who are "constantly laughing at each other."
Training Regimen and Performance Anxiety
Ahead of the Soccer Aid event, GK has been undergoing intensive training with Ella's guidance. "I'm learning how to dribble," she laughed. "Learning what goal is ours that we have to shoot in. Ella's got me on a high protein diet, which is hell – I've been doing a lot of that, a lot of eggs, a lot of mince. It's disgusting, but I'm hoping that will make me automatically become a footballer."
Despite her enthusiasm, GK admitted to performance anxiety about the upcoming event, which will take place at London Stadium with approximately 60,000 attendees. "I have a thing: I forget how to walk if I think someone behind me is looking at me," she confessed. "I do fear that I may skip onto the pitch or something like that. But it should be exciting; it's the biggest thing I've done."
Future Plans and Charitable Involvement
GK emphasized the importance of her participation in Soccer Aid for UNICEF, noting how it aligns with her values and connects with her audience. "I think it's amazing to tie in with that," she said. "Our team has so many types of people in different bits of the industry, so the amount of people we'll be able to bring in and donate to the charity is amazing."
Regarding her relationship with Ella, GK hinted at future plans while maintaining a lighthearted approach. "Ella's always like, 'When are you proposing, then?'" she revealed. "She asked me to be her girlfriend, so it's definitely me getting on the knee. But we need to explore more countries, see which we like, and then I can propose there. I'm not proposing in Skegness. She just needs to be patient – but patience isn't one of Ella's virtues!"
Soccer Aid for UNICEF takes place on Sunday, 31st May at the London Stadium, with adult tickets starting from £20 and junior tickets from £10.
