Declan Donnelly has humorously taken aim at Gemma Collins following her peculiar assertion about an air fryer. During her stay in the jungle on I'm a Celebrity... South Africa, the reality television personality revealed she had discarded her air fryer because it allegedly "sucked all the air" out of her kitchen, leaving her struggling to breathe.
Viral Moment Sparks Podcast Discussion
The comment quickly gained traction on social media platforms, with fans recreating the moment at home. Gemma's remarks also became a focal point on the show's presenters' podcast, Hanging Out With Ant and Dec. While discussing the series, Ant McPartlin brought up the clip, prompting Dec to jokingly admit he was "outraged" by the claim.
"As an air fryer aficionado, that outraged me. Don't give air fryers such a bad name - they don't suck the air out of the room," he stated.
Listener Swap Suggestions
The duo then invited listeners to propose items Dec could exchange for his beloved air fryer. After receiving "hundreds" of responses, Ant revealed he had narrowed the list down. One suggestion was a travel hairdryer, but while Dec admitted he did not own one, he was not particularly enthusiastic about the idea.
"Most hotels have one - and I don't have a 'butt cut' anymore," he shared. "I do [dry my hair], yes," he continued. "But everywhere's got one now."
Another listener offered to swap her husband's PlayStation 5 - an idea Dec was tempted by, though he acknowledged it could be "problematic". "I think that would cause a family squabble," he joked. "I was really tempted there, Poppy - that was a great swap."
A third suggestion, an electric drum kit, particularly caught his attention. "It has headphones, so it doesn't make as much noise," the listener explained, adding that it could be great for his young children. In response, Dec said: "This could be a swap," though joked it would be for him and not his children.
Live Final Tonight
Tonight, the presenters will host the live final of the all-star series, where one of the remaining celebrities will be crowned Legend of the Jungle. Those still in the running are Adam Thomas, Mo Farah, Craig Charles, and Harry Redknapp, following Scarlett Moffatt's emotional exit on Thursday night.
Speaking about who she would like to see crowned winner, the 2016 winner said: "Sir Mo. Genuinely, even if I'd got into the final, I'd have said to people, 'If you were thinking of voting for me, you should vote for Mo'. Nobody deserves it as much as him. I really do hope he wins."
Reflecting on her return to the show, she added: "Last time I felt like a bit of an imposter. I was only 25, I didn't really know where my place was or who I was as a person. I enjoyed it, but a lot of the time I felt overwhelmed. Whereas this time around, I know who I am, so I just enjoyed it and went in there less intimidated."
I'm A Celebrity South Africa Live Final airs tonight at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
