Bad Bunny Leaves $140 Tip and Concert Tickets at Sydney Café

Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny has left a lasting impression in Sydney after a visit to a local café, where he tipped $140 and gifted concert tickets to staff. The singer, real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, stopped by The Rusty Rabbit in Darlinghurst on Thursday, dressed in casual attire including a blue T-shirt, yellow hoodie, green shorts, trucker cap and red flip flops.

Owner Joshua Khoury told HELLO! that Bad Bunny arrived with a group of five and sat quietly at the back of the café. Staff only realised who he was after they ordered. The group enjoyed steak and eggs, pancakes, southern fried chicken burgers, breakfast wraps, coffee and juice. Upon leaving, Bad Bunny left a US$100 tip (A$140) and gave the entire team tickets to his weekend shows.

Since the visit, The Rusty Rabbit has seen a 94% increase in revenue on Thursday and an even larger jump on Friday. Khoury described the encounter as 'pretty special' and fitting given the café's name. Bad Bunny also visited Tamarama Beach with on-and-off girlfriend Gabriela Berlingeri, who swam in a brown string bikini.

The couple, who dated from 2017 to 2022, met in Puerto Rico. Berlingeri appeared in the video for 'Tití Me Preguntó' and sang on 'En Casita'. She supported Bad Bunny during his historic Spanish-language Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 8, which drew criticism from conservatives. Bad Bunny said he wants to be remembered as an honest artist who is proud of his roots and believes music is universal.
