A man has sparked a heated online debate after refusing to swap his paid plane seat with an eight-year-old girl, following what he described as manipulation and lies from the child's mother.
The Awkward Encounter
The 26-year-old holidaymaker and his girlfriend boarded a four-hour flight, only to find a mother and her daughter occupying their pre-booked centre and window seats. When questioned, the mother claimed airline staff had instructed them to sit together, but the man grew suspicious and called a flight attendant.
The crew member clarified that the mother should have arranged seating beforehand and that any swap required the couple's consent. The mother then argued she had asked, but the man insisted she only declared the seats were theirs without a polite request.
