Turkish military forces have shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle described as "out of control" after it approached the nation's airspace from the Black Sea, the Defence Ministry confirmed on Monday.
Military Response to Unidentified Object
The incident unfolded after radar systems detected an unidentified object heading towards Turkish territory. In response, the Turkish Air Force swiftly scrambled F-16 fighter jets to intercept the potential threat.
"To avoid any potential harm, it was shot down in a safe area outside of a populated zone," the ministry stated. Officials provided no specific details regarding the precise location or exact time of the engagement.

This aerial incident occurs against a backdrop of escalating maritime activity and security concerns in the Black Sea region, directly linked to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. In recent weeks, Ukrainian naval drones have targeted several vessels.
