Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has claimed that US President Donald Trump may be within days of launching a nuclear strike on Iran. The allegation, posted on X, says the target would be Pickax Mountain in central Iran, where Israeli intelligence claims the Iranian government has restarted its nuclear enrichment program.
Pressure from Netanyahu
Carlson wrote that the Trump administration is under pressure from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to deploy a nuclear weapon. He stated that no conventional weapon in the American arsenal can penetrate 300 feet of solid granite to destroy the tunnels where enrichment is supposedly taking place, leaving a nuclear strike as the only military option.
According to Carlson, Netanyahu has been pushing hard for such a strike, with an informed observer saying, "Bibi calls Trump about it every day." The former presenter attributed Netanyahu's "desperation" to the recent Israeli elections, where his party lost its parliamentary majority. Carlson suggested Netanyahu "must stay close to Trump" and "needs this war" in hopes the President will intervene in Israeli politics to help him regain power.
Decision Timeline and Officials Involved
Carlson claimed that Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth and CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper have both faced pressure from Netanyahu. Citing "close observers," he said Trump will make a decision by November 7 on whether to deploy nuclear weapons.
While Carlson noted that JD Vance and Steve Witkoff both reject the escalation and believe a deal can be struck, he warned that the consequences of a nuclear strike could be enormous.
Potential Fallout and Global Risks
Carlson said the fallout could contaminate water for "100 million people" and potentially trigger World War 3. He forecast a domino effect where Russia deploys nuclear weapons against Ukraine, Pakistan and India are tempted to do the same to each other, and North Korea acts against South Korea.
Senator Chris Murphy has revealed he was briefed on the plans, describing them as "devastating for our security interests." The prediction follows last week's confession by a military strategist who said she was "terrified" that Trump could drop a "tactical nuke somewhere." Should World War 3 break out, the US might be compelled to introduce a military draft to strengthen its ground forces.
