Images from the scene reveal that the front section of the aircraft was extensively damaged. Merlin helicopters typically carry a crew of four and can transport up to 24 troops. Emergency services are currently at the crash site, and police have implemented several road closures around the A386 and A30 Sourton Cross slip road and services area.
