Victoria Beckham's LED therapy secret: Celluma Pro mask review

Victoria Beckham is a fan of LED light therapy, and she frequently visits aesthetician Melanie Grant for anti-ageing and skin clarity facials. At home, she uses the Celluma Pro LED mask for body contouring and skin rejuvenation.

In an Instagram post, she said: “More is more with my skincare! From LED lights to dermaplaning and masking, my skincare routine is extensive!”

A 60-Minute Full-Body Session

Several clinics offer Celluma treatments. Last week, I visited Young LDN in Notting Hill for a 60-minute therapy targeting both the front and back of my body. The process was completely painless and required no injections.

All I had to do was remove my clothes (except underwear for hygiene purposes) and lie on the bed with the Celluma LED panel covering my back for 30 minutes, before turning around for another 30 minutes.

How LED Therapy Works

LED treatment works by emitting different wavelengths of light that penetrate the skin to stimulate cellular processes. That includes healing scars, tightening skin, boosting collagen, and repairing tissue.

The flexible LED sheet contours perfectly around the body and covers everything from the neck down.

The Experience and Cost

I did my back first, and I dozed off soon after the staff left the room. At the end of the treatment, I felt lighter and my muscles were less tense. As for other benefits, I could neither confirm nor deny its efficacy, as I was only trying it for the first time.

It was suggested to use it at least three times a week, but results will vary by individual, as the official website stated. Most clinics offer a treatment plan for customers, but a single treatment costs roughly £100. If you wish to buy the full body panel, it costs £13,194.

Expert Advice and Alternatives

Board-certified dermatologist Dr Dennis Gross, who developed his own LED mask, noted that the best treatment for any skin concern is prevention. He added: “Remember, before you see fine lines – including crow’s feet – there is collagen breakdown. I think an LED mask is a great way to give skin a collagen boost – even if you aren't seeing signs of aging just yet. As I always say, treat the crinkle before the wrinkle.”

For me, I might stick to using at-home LED masks and convert it to a DIY body panel. I am also tempted to try the new Shark Clinic Face and Body LED mask, which extends the light therapy technology to the neck and chest, or the back. It targets eight zones to improve signs of ageing and skin stress for younger-looking, clearer skin.
