Sunday Reset: 5 Cleaning Tasks to Refresh Your Home

There is nothing quite like giving your home a proper clean and sort-out before the new week begins. Few things beat the satisfaction of your home looking and smelling fantastic, knowing you are the one responsible. It means you can start each morning without the nagging worry of whether your house is in order or whether your belongings are strewn about waiting to trip you up when you are already feeling overstimulated.

The Sunday Reset Checklist

Christy, who posts content on TikTok as @christyytiktok, shared her Sunday reset checklist, describing it as step by step so you would not miss anything important while giving your home a well-deserved spruce ahead of the week.

1. Bedroom

You should dust and disinfect nightstands and mirrors, then vacuum and mop, depending on the type of flooring in your bedroom. With just a few tasks crossed off your list, you will already feel a great deal better, and your bedroom will be all set for another week of early nights.

2. Bathroom

Next, she stressed the importance of disinfecting your basin and wiping down your mirror while you are in there, keeping it spotless and streak-free. Do not forget to scrub the toilet and shower, giving every corner of the loo a thorough clean with your preferred cleaning products. Once that is done, empty your bin. Christy's trick is to place a few drops of essential oil on a cotton pad and pop it inside, so unpleasant smells do not bother her throughout the week. If required, you could also replace toilet paper, towels, and soap. Obviously, it is equally important to vacuum and mop the bathroom floor, too.

3. Kitchen

Empty the kitchen bin and disinfect it. Given that it regularly holds food waste, it can frequently smell absolutely vile. The next task involves vacuuming and mopping the floors, alongside emptying and refilling the dishwasher if you own one. If not, you will need to wash and dry dishes by hand. Once you have tackled these jobs, your kitchen will look considerably better.

4. Living Room

After that, plump up cushions, fold blankets, and dust all surfaces, including the television. Hoovering and mopping should likewise be done throughout the room.

5. General

Lastly, she explained that it is worthwhile getting a decent chunk of your laundry finished on a Sunday, after which you can light a candle and savour the results of your hard work.
