An NHS worker who has suffered from severe psoriasis for over a decade says the condition is “nearly gone” after using an £11 cream from Amazon. Nicole Carter, 26, from Staffordshire, described her worst flare-up earlier this year as “torture,” saying she “couldn’t move freely without my skin pulling or splitting.”
A decade of suffering
Nicole first noticed signs of psoriasis at around age 16. Over time, the condition worsened and spread from her head and neck to other parts of her body. Her worst flare-up occurred at the beginning of this year, covering her stomach, back, neck, forehead, legs, and ears.
“It was honestly torture, I couldn’t move freely without my skin pulling or splitting,” she said. “Both my confidence and mental health have of course been affected by my psoriasis, more so when I was younger. I would feel self-conscious because every time I moved, I would be dropping flakes of skin everywhere. I had to hoover my room and my bed every day. I just felt gross.”
Finding relief with PSOregon
