Television presenter Laura Hamilton has inspired her followers by sharing a powerful glimpse into her dedicated fitness routine, just months after confronting online trolls over ageist comments about her appearance.
Gym Dedication and a Motivating Message
On Thursday, the 43-year-old star of Channel 4's A Place In The Sun took to Instagram to post a series of workout images. In the photos, Laura showcased her impressively toned abs and biceps while wearing an Adidas crop top and black leggings. She was captured mid-exercise, working up a sweat with a pair of dumbbells in hand.
Alongside the snapshots, Hamilton shared an empowering message about consistency. "Not just because it’s a new year… make it part of your routine!" she wrote. Demonstrating her commitment, she added: "Even when I can’t get to a gym, I’ve been known to take my skipping rope on location (sorry to anyone who has been in the room below)."
Clapping Back at Ageist Criticism
This display of strength and fitness follows a period where Laura directly addressed cruel online commentary. Last year, she hit back at trolls who insisted she was 'too old to wear a bikini'. In a defiant post at the time, she posed in a plunging black and white snake print swimsuit beside a pool, questioning: "Who decides when we're 'too old' for anything?"
Reflecting on the negative remark, she explained it initially gave her pause. "But then I reminded myself, life's way too short to worry about what other people think," she stated. In a heartwarming image with her daughter Tahlia, she emphasised wearing a swimsuit because she wanted to and felt comfortable. "We all have days when we feel self-conscious," Laura wrote, "but we deserve to enjoy the sunshine, the beach, the pool, whatever makes us happy, no matter our age."
Balancing a Demanding Career with Motherhood
Away from the gym and the spotlight, Laura Hamilton is a mother to two children: Rocco, 11, and Tahlia, 10, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Alex Goward. She has spoken openly about the challenges and triumphs of juggling her demanding filming schedule with family life.
Despite facing online criticism for spending time away from her children to film the popular property show, she has no regrets. Laura confessed that while she has immense respect for full-time parents, she could never give up her career. "I love my career as well as being a mum and I've managed to find a way to make it work," she told The Sun.
Her strategy involves meticulous planning, scheduling filming around the time her children are with their father. She also expressed gratitude to her employer for allowing her the flexibility to travel with her kids when possible, calling herself "incredibly lucky."
Fans were quick to praise her latest fitness post, with one commenting: "You are looking AMAZING and you’re a huge part of inspiring me to work out." Through her openness about fitness, ageism, and work-life balance, Laura Hamilton continues to connect with and motivate her audience beyond the television screen.
