Jeremy Clarkson reveals three stone weight loss and new energy
Jeremy Clarkson on three stone weight loss journey

Television presenter Jeremy Clarkson has publicly detailed a significant personal transformation, confirming he has shed an impressive three stone in weight since the start of the year.

A New Lease of Life

Speaking candidly about his health journey, the 65-year-old star of The Grand Tour said he now feels completely "energised" following medical treatment and lifestyle adjustments. Clarkson explained that a combination of medication and having stents fitted has led to him walking considerably more, enjoying better sleep, and experiencing a marked boost in vigour.

"Yes I walk further, I have got more energy and now I've got my stents in, I'm energised," he revealed during a recent interview with ITV. While he still enjoys the occasional curry, he has cut out snacking, which he admitted used to "fill you up" without notice.

From Setback to Success

This isn't the first time Clarkson has spoken about his weight-loss efforts. After undergoing emergency heart surgery in late 2024, he was motivated to make major changes for his health. An initial attempt using the drug Ozempic was unsuccessful, causing severe sickness and even weight gain, leaving him feeling like a "bulimic Henry VIII".

He later found success with Mounjaro, which he described as an "extraordinary game changer" that helped curb his appetite and led to him losing around two stone. This was paired with dietary changes, eliminating processed foods like bacon and chocolate, and starting low-impact Reformer Pilates.

Stepping into the Hot Seat

Clarkson made these revelations while promoting his new role as host of ITV's Millionaire Hot Seat, a rapid-fire spin-off of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? set to debut in January 2026. The host insists that without work he would simply "rot", showing no intention of slowing down.

The new quiz format is described as a "tactical twist", featuring six contestants in a rotating chair line-up. Only the participant in the "hot seat" can answer questions, but they can choose to pass, which sends them to the back of the queue. An incorrect answer means elimination and reduces the overall prize pot.

"It's a very expensive game of musical chairs," Clarkson quipped. "You can be the most brilliant player and go home with nothing or you can be useless, and go home with the prize." He added that the show reveals fascinating human behaviour as contestants decide whether to help each other or sabotage rivals.

The Millionaire brand remains a ratings powerhouse for ITV, pulling in over 18 million viewers this year alone. Clarkson shared that the new series has already produced emotional moments, including one contestant winning £100,000 while others who helped her left with nothing but still celebrated her victory.
