Millie Mackintosh has revealed that her strikingly sculpted abs at the TV BAFTA Awards were achieved through soft tissue remodelling and skin tightening procedures. The former Made In Chelsea star, 36, admitted she sought professional help to attain her envy-inducing stomach, which she showcased in a lemon yellow crop top and mermaid-tail skirt on the red carpet.
Procedure Details
In a video shared by plastic surgeons Andres Bello and Sadaf Jaffari, Millie was seen stripping to her underwear as the surgeons explained the process, drawing on her midriff. They stated: "We do want a very nice defined mid line and we want the shadowing of the ribs with the obliques and the rectus abdominals. So we're going to do that. We never have a flat abdomen. The abdomen needs to have four curvatures, which are natural, otherwise it looks like a brick."
Speaking to Millie on the surgery table, the doctor elaborated: "We have skin, fat, fascia, fat, fascia, main muscle. So imagine that in between all the fat cells, we have all the strings pulling the fascia and the skin together. This crackling is all those tissues collapsing, tightening everything." The mother-of-two was seen holding a nurse's hand during the procedure.
QuantumRF and Emsculpt Neo
The surgeons shared the video on Instagram, explaining: "Millie recently visited Dr Bello for QuantumRF, one of the most advanced minimally invasive treatments for skin tightening and soft tissue remodelling. Using radiofrequency technology, QuantumRF works beneath the surface to contract and remodel tissue from within, helping to tighten, lift and sculpt areas affected by skin laxity with natural-looking results and minimal downtime." They added that Millie also regularly combines treatments with training, alongside EMsculpt and TruSculpt flex sessions to support muscle tone and definition.
Millie addressed the procedure on her own Instagram, admitting her incredible physique is "not effortless after two kids." She detailed that despite eating well and exercising most days, she utilised Quantum RF and Emsculpt Neo to help firm up her stomach. She wrote: "Thank you for all your lovely comments about my BAFTA outfit! I have had a lot of questions about my abs and my workout routine... The truth is that they are not effortless, especially after 2 kids! I eat well and exercise most days but I wanted a little extra help so tried QuantumRF about 3 months ago." She noted that full results appear after one year but she is already seeing a difference, especially around her C-section scar.
Post-Baby Body Image
Millie, who announced her split from second husband Hugo Taylor in March, has previously spoken about struggling with her post-baby image. After Sienna's arrival, she said: "I did feel self-conscious when I went out and wouldn't want anything to be tight to my tummy. I did struggle looking in the mirror for the first three months... I did feel a bit ashamed of my postpartum body. And it's kind of sad that I felt that…It feels good to admit that... It definitely won't go back to being exactly the same as before and I'm okay with that…I feel more womanly, and I'm really loving it."
Red Carpet Snub
At the BAFTAs, Hugo's best friend Spencer Matthews reportedly blanked Millie. The father-of-three, who was best man at their 2018 wedding, ignored her as he greeted others in the queue for pictures on the red carpet. Standing with his pregnant wife Vogue Williams, Spencer momentarily left her to greet BBC journalist Anita Rani, walking straight past Millie, who appeared visibly put out by the snub. Millie and Spencer have a long and chequered past, including explosive rows on Made In Chelsea, with Millie once slapping him for cheating on her friend Louise Thompson in 2012.
