Morning Routine: Meditation and Skincare
Dr Yannis Alexandrides, founder of 111 Skin, wakes between 7.15am and 8am, often without an alarm. He starts with meditation, then reviews his schedule. After a glass of water with fresh lemon, he exercises—varying his workout daily. His skincare routine includes 111 Skin Black Diamond Vitamin C Brightening Cleanser, Antioxidant NAC Y² Essence, Repair Serum NAC Y², and Repair Day Cream NAC Y².
Diet and Movement
Breakfast favorites include scrambled eggs, toasted sourdough, avocado with chilli olive oil, and Greek yoghurt with blueberries, bananas, honey, and walnuts. On work days, lunch is a small snack like a protein shake with 10g of creatine. Dinner is important, with a rotation of fish, poultry, and meat with vegetables. He walks during lunch breaks and between surgeries to stay energized.
Cryotherapy and Cognitive Enhancers
Dr Alexandrides regularly visits 111CRYO/HEAT for whole body cryotherapy, which uses extremely low temperatures for vasoconstriction, anti-inflammatory effects, and mood enhancement. He also uses a thermotherapy pod with infrared, LED light, vibrational massage, and aromatherapy. Supplements include 111 Skin NAC Y² Complex and creatine, and he drinks black coffee for concentration.
Technology and Stress Management
His iPhone syncs with his office desktop and iPad for constant clinic connectivity. He manages low-level stress with meditation but takes breaks if needed. Screen time is not an issue due to his busy schedule, but he disconnects completely on vacation. He reads scientific journals like Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, as well as fiction and non-fiction.
Evening Wind-Down and Sleep
He goes to bed between 11pm and midnight, winding down with friends or family. For optimal sleep, he prefers a cool, dark, quiet room, using earplugs if needed. Magnesium helps him sleep restfully, and he resolves outstanding thoughts before bed.
His philosophy: “Time is the most precious commodity, so use it to do the things you love. Don’t dwell on the past... Focus instead on the present and make each day count.”
