The US military is launching a new program to test soldiers for testosterone levels, with voluntary hormone replacement therapy offered to those with low testosterone. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that all military personnel above the age of 30 will undergo optional testing, part of a broader initiative to help soldiers operate at their 'absolute best.'
Pentagon's 'High-T Department' Initiative
Hegseth shared a video titled 'High-T Department,' vowing to provide the 'best medical care in the world' for America's 'warriors.' He emphasized that the program is about long-term health, not artificial enhancement. 'Taking care of your long-term health means ensuring you remain strong, resilient and capable – not just for your next deployment, but for the rest of your life, so you can thrive long after you take off the uniform,' Hegseth said.
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell explained, 'The protocol will enable the Department to establish a comprehensive baseline and offer targeted testosterone therapy, ensuring that it sustains a healthy, capable, and decisively dominant fighting force.' The current military ban on non-medical testosterone use remains in place.
Broader Context of Hegseth's Leadership
Since becoming Defense Secretary, Hegseth has renamed the agency the 'Department of War' and emphasized Christian nationalism. He has also taken an aggressive stance toward the press questioning military operations in Iran. Earlier this year, Hegseth claimed the Iran War has been a success, stating that the world 'should be saying thank you' to President Trump.
During the war's onset, American soldiers were reportedly told by officials that the Iran conflict was 'God's plan' to bring about the end of the world. The Military Religious Freedom Foundation received over 200 complaints from personnel across all branches. One complainant said their commander urged troops not to be 'afraid' of the looming war, stating it was 'all part of God's divine plan' and referencing the Book of Revelation and Armageddon.
The commander allegedly said, 'President Trump has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.' This was reported via an email shared by journalist Jonathan Larsen.
