The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued multiple recall notices this week for popular food items, including pesto and baby snacks, due to undeclared allergens and mould contamination. Meanwhile, the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has recalled 15 designer and celebrity perfumes containing banned ingredients.
Filippo Berio UK is recalling its Hot Chilli Pesto (190g, batch code LR319, best-before May 15, 2028) because it contains undeclared fish, posing a risk to those with fish allergies. The FSA advises customers with fish allergies not to eat the product and to return it to the store for a full refund.
Glenisk has recalled a range of Organic Baby Fromage Frais products due to possible mould contamination, making them unfit for consumption. The FSA urges customers not to eat the products and to contact Glenisk at info@glenisk.com for a replacement.
Savers Health and Beauty stores have recalled 15 fragrances, including CK One, Jean Paul Gaultier Classique, and FCUK Original, because they contain banned chemicals such as hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde and butylphenyl methylpropional. These substances may harm the reproductive system, unborn children, and cause skin sensitisation.
