UK shoppers are being urged to check recent recall notices covering a supermarket lasagne, several flapjack snack bars and a range of Aldi hairdryers. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) and the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) have both published warnings over health and safety risks linked to the products.
Lasagne recalled over undeclared allergens
Carroll's of Tullamore's Traditional Lasagne has been recalled because it contains undeclared eggs and milk. These ingredients are not listed on the label, meaning the product poses a risk to people with allergies. The lasagne has only been sold in Northern Ireland.
The FSA said: "This product contains egg and milk, making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg or with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents."
Customers who have bought the product and have an allergy or intolerance to egg or milk are advised not to eat it and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Affected customers can contact Carroll's of Tullamore on (057) 936 3000, by email at Hello.CarrollCuisine@sofinafoods.eu, or by post to Carroll Cuisine, Burlington Business Park, Sragh Road, Tullamore, Co Offaly, R35F7X4.
The affected product is Carroll's of Tullamore Traditional Lasagne, pack size 350g, with a use-by date of November 4, 2026.
Flapjacks recalled in England and Wales
Full On Flapjacks has recalled a series of its flapjack products due to undeclared allergens. The recall covers England and Wales. The products contain almonds (nuts), soya and wheat (gluten), which are not declared on the label.
The FSA said: "These products contain almonds, soya and wheat, making them a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almonds (nuts) or soya, and/or an allergy or intolerance to wheat containing gluten, or with coeliac disease."
Full On Flapjacks said: "If you have bought any of the affected products listed above and you have an allergy to almond, soya or wheat, do not eat them. Instead, return the product to the store from which you purchased it for a full refund. For further information, please contact: migginshandbake@gmail.com."
The recalled products include Bakewell Flapjack (with undeclared almonds, soya and wheat), Raspberry Yoghurt Flapjack, White Chocolate Flapjack, Blueberry Swirl Flapjack and Caramel Flapjack (all with undeclared soya and wheat). All pack sizes and best-before dates are affected.
Aldi hairdryer poses electric shock risk
Aldi is recalling its Ambiano Ionic Hairdryers due to a high risk of electric shock. The OPSS said: "The product presents a risk of electric shock or fire as, over time, the power cord may become damaged, allowing access to live parts or causing overheating. If the user were to touch an accessible live part, they could receive an electric shock."
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016. If the packaging has been thrown away, barcodes can be found on the underside of the hairdryer.
Aldi said: "As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling the Ambiano Ionic Hairdryer (sold between August and September 2025) because of a technical fault. Anyone who bought this product should return it to their nearest store for a full refund. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
The supermarket told customers: "Do not use the product and return it to your nearest store for a full refund." The affected model is 849855, available in black, white, yellow and orange, with barcodes 4061462195075 (black), 4061462195211 (white), 4061462195310 (yellow) and 4061462195372 (orange), sold during August and September 2025.
