Live Frog Found in Woolworths Salad Bag

A farmer in Esperance, Western Australia, discovered a live frog inside a sealed bag of lettuce purchased from Woolworths. Rhys Smoker was preparing dinner when he found the amphibian, initially surprising his housemates who thought he was joking.

Frog Named Greg

The frog was affectionately named Greg by the housemates before being released into a nearby pond, accompanied by the song 'Crazy Frog' as a tribute.

Supermarket Response

Woolworths has launched an investigation into the incident, apologised to the customers, and provided a replacement item. The supermarket stated that product quality and food safety are taken seriously, describing it as an isolated incident despite previous reports of animals found in Australian supermarket produce.
