Lidl Launches Pitbull-Inspired Suncream to Highlight Skin Cancer Risks
Lidl Pitbull Suncream for Skin Cancer Awareness

Lidl is launching a limited-edition suncream inspired by Pitbull’s bald head to highlight the increased risks of sun damage for those without hair. The product, renamed Mr SPF 30.5 (a play on Pitbull’s nickname Mr 305), is a version of Lidl’s Cien sun spray.

Partnership with Skin Cancer Charity

Created in partnership with SKCIN, the suncream aims to remind people of sun damage risks. New research shows skin cancer is the most common and fastest-rising cancer in the UK. One in three cancers diagnosed is skin cancer, with one in four men and one in six women developing non-melanoma skin cancer due to excessive sun exposure.

Vulnerability of Bald Heads

Those with bald heads are particularly vulnerable. Mr SPF 30.5 encourages proper SPF protection. The product is available as part of a “Mr Bald-wide” bundle via www.lidlmrspf305.co.uk for £3.05, with all proceeds donated to SKCIN for sun safety education.

Bundle Includes UV-Protective Aviators

The bundle includes a pair of UV-protective aviators and a Lidl Plus voucher for 30% off Cien sun creams and sprays. Fans attending Pitbull’s performance on July 10 at London Victoria Station between 11am and 5pm can also get bottles of Mr SPF 30.5.

Quote from SKCIN CEO

Marie Tudor, CEO of SKCIN, said: “While bald caps might be the must-have accessory for fans channelling their inner Mr Worldwide this summer, it's important to remember that our scalps are particularly vulnerable to the sun's harmful UV rays. One in four men will be diagnosed with a form of skin cancer during their lifetime. Education can help prevent 90% of cases and treat or cure 98% of skin cancer in Brits.”

Availability

Fans can purchase the bundle from 10am on Monday July 6.
