Princess Kate's diet: Meals that fuel her royal routine

Princess Catherine is known for her glowing complexion, toned physique and overall love for a healthy lifestyle, including good food and exercise. While the Princess of Wales may have kept her diet and eating habits private, several insiders and experts over the years have shed light on some of her favourite meals.

Catherine, a lover of healthy, nutritious and flavourful dishes, is known for cooking them herself, alongside her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The Express has looked at the Princess of Wales' food choices, all of which help her juggle her busy royal career whilst raising three children.

Breakfast: Oats and Smoothies

Catherine has reportedly enjoyed oats for breakfast. Slow-burning energy oats can keep the royal "filled up and with enough fuel to attend royal events, exercise and run after her three children", according to nutrition experts at BarBend.

As the princess is known to love a good, consistent workout, the experts said that oats can be excellent workout fuel, "as they release energy throughout the whole workout." To maintain her royal glow, Catherine is also said to enjoy antioxidant-filled smoothies. She reportedly blends a combination of kale, spirulina, matcha, spinach, romaine and blueberries together for a healthy morning pick-me-up.

Lunch: Vegetarian Favourites

The Princess of Wales likes to lunch on vegetarian dishes, despite not being a vegetarian, according to reports. Watermelon salads, tabbouleh, ceviche and gazpacho are some of her favourites, whilst she also enjoys vegetable kebabs and lentil curries.

The nutrition experts said: "Include juicy pink watermelon mixed with avocado, onion, cucumber, and feta cheese – the perfect mix of sweet and savoury!" Catherine and William are also known to be keen on the occasional sushi.

Dinner and Family Cooking

Princess Catherine likes dinner classics like the rest of us - her favourites include roasts, pasta and curries. It has also been revealed that roast chicken was William's favourite dinner. Whilst the princess has also spoken about her family's love for pasta.

During a visit to Lavender Primary School, the royal revealed that her children love cooking. She also said the family enjoy making cheesy pasta, salads, pizza and baking cakes. The Princess of Wales has mentioned she's a big fan of spicy food, unlike the Prince of Wales.

Snacks and Desserts

The Princess of Wales is known to like raw fruit and vegetables to snack on throughout the day. She also enjoys popcorn. "[Popcorn] can be a delightful low-calorie snack to keep you going in between meals, if not seasoned with too much sugar," the experts claimed.

When it comes to a sweet treat, Catherine's favourite pudding is known to be a good old sticky toffee pudding, according to former royal chef Darren McGrady.
