Millie Mackintosh: How cutting sugar and eating wholefoods helps my ADHD
Millie Mackintosh reveals diet that 'helped with her ADHD'

Former Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh has opened up about the specific diet she follows, revealing that cutting out refined sugar and focusing on wholefoods has significantly helped her manage her ADHD.

A Dietary Shift for Mental Wellbeing

The 36-year-old television personality explained that she eliminated refined sugar from her diet around a year ago after completing a 10-day detox. She said the positive effects were so pronounced that she has largely maintained the change ever since.

Mackintosh advocates for an 80/20 approach, avoiding rigidity while prioritising nourishment. She shared that this way of eating has not only improved her general sense of balance but has also been instrumental in managing her ADHD.

"It’s honestly really helped with my ADHD and just feeling more balanced day to day," she wrote in a detailed Instagram post. "For me, it’s less about restriction and more about nourishment and thinking of food as medicine."

What a Typical Day on Her Plate Looks Like

Mackintosh provided a thorough breakdown of her daily meals, which are designed to support stable energy and focus.

Her morning routine begins with bone broth, hot water with lemon, and electrolytes for hydration. After the school run, she opts for a protein smoothie made with almond butter and berries, supplemented by a handful of nuts if needed.

Lunch often consists of a vegetable-packed soup, with added protein from eggs, fish, or chicken. Afternoon snacks might include chia pudding, nuts, or a keto-friendly option. Dinner is always protein-centric, frequently featuring a curry, stew, or slow-cooked dish with vegetables on the side.

Professional Split Amidst Personal Evolution

This revelation about her health journey comes in the wake of reports that Mackintosh has parted ways with her long-term manager and close friend, Donna Rooney, who is also the godmother to her two children.

Insiders suggest the star made the difficult decision in a bid to distance herself from her reality TV roots and pursue more 'credible' career opportunities. The professional split has reportedly left Rooney 'deeply upset'.

Mackintosh has now signed with top agency YMU, home to presenters like Ant and Dec and Claudia Winkleman, signalling a new professional chapter.

Embracing a 'New Season of Life'

The mother-of-two recently took to social media to reflect on personal change, sharing a candid post about evolving friendships and self-prioritisation.

She described rating herself as a friend from '10/10' in the past down to '1/10' as her life and priorities shifted, but concluded: "The 10/10 belonged to an older version of me. I'm a 10/10 in a new season of my life."

Millie Mackintosh, who shares daughters Sienna, five, and Aurelia, four, with husband Hugo Taylor, 39, appears to be firmly focused on a future defined by wellness, both personally and professionally.
