Supercars star David Reynolds, known for his maverick personality on and off the track, is defiantly sticking to his controversial all-meat diet, despite tests revealing his cholesterol levels have soared to alarming heights.
The Carnivore Commitment: Meat for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
David Reynolds, the 40-year-old former Bathurst 1000 champion, has fully embraced an extreme carnivore diet, consuming only animal products. He claims this radical shift in nutrition has led to him feeling better than ever, even if it means starting his day with a steak or dining on raw liver.
Reynolds first adopted this meat-only lifestyle back in 2022 and witnessed a dramatic physical transformation, shedding an impressive 10 kilograms in just a couple of months. However, this significant weight loss came with a major health warning. The driver acknowledged that his cholesterol levels subsequently 'went through the roof'.
Medical Scares and Supernatural Encounters
Initially concerned by the test results, Reynolds decided to investigate further. 'I was a little bit worried initially... so I got a calcium score, and that was zero,' he told News Corp. Not stopping there, he underwent an ultrasound of his heart, which he revealed was 'completely perfect', putting his mind at ease about the long-term impacts of his dietary choices.
Proponents of the all-meat diet suggest it can aid weight loss, stabilise moods, and help regulate blood sugar. While strictly committed, Reynolds does allow for the occasional minor indulgence, such as a small piece of dark chocolate, some natural full-fat Greek yoghurt with honey, or an apple.
The racing driver, who famously won the 2017 Bathurst 1000 with co-driver Luke Youlden, has no plans to revert to a conventional diet. He knows his weakness for 'bad food' like croissants and donuts would be too tempting, making his current strict regime a necessity.
A Ghostly Tale from a Melbourne Apartment
In a bizarre twist away from the track, Reynolds also made headlines in 2024 by recounting a supernatural experience he shared with his glamorous partner, former Big Brother star and Miss Universe contestant Tahan Lew-Fatt.
The couple were living in a St Kilda apartment in Melbourne over a decade ago when the eerie incident occurred. Reynolds recalled swimming laps in the complex's pool when he felt something 'brush past' him. He insists he then saw kicking feet in the water, despite being the only person swimming at the time.
Lew-Fatt had her own terrifying encounter in the spa adjacent to the pool. So convinced was she that she had seen a ghost, she fled the area and hurried back to the safety of their apartment.
