TOWIE Star Jordan Brook Hospitalised with Viral Meningitis and Encephalitis

Jordan Brook, a star from the reality television show The Only Way is Essex, has publicly disclosed that he is currently hospitalised with viral meningitis and encephalitis, an inflammation of the brain. In a recent update from his hospital bed, Mr Brook detailed that his condition requires around-the-clock medical care, including continuous seizure monitoring, as the swelling on his brain has unfortunately worsened.

Condition Unrelated to Kent Bacterial Meningitis Outbreak

It is important to note that Mr Brook's viral meningitis diagnosis is not connected to the ongoing bacterial meningitis outbreak in Kent. The UK Health Security Agency has confirmed an increase in cases linked to what they describe as an unusual cluster in the region, with cases rising to 34 and resulting in two tragic deaths. Of the 23 confirmed cases, 18 have been identified as meningitis B.

University of Kent Vaccination Response

In response to the Kent outbreak, hundreds of students at the University of Kent's Canterbury campus have been queuing for vaccinations to protect against the spread of the disease. This proactive measure aims to curb further infections and ensure campus safety amidst the concerning rise in meningitis cases.
