A murder investigation has been launched after the body of a mother-of-two was found at the base of a cliff on the Channel Island of Alderney.
Hannah Benfield, 34, was found dead at the bottom of cliffs early on Monday morning. A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
First murder arrest since World War Two
The arrest is the first on suspicion of murder in Alderney since World War Two, according to Guernsey Police.
Investigation ongoing
Police have not yet released further details about the circumstances of Ms Benfield's death. The investigation is ongoing.
